Im not a big guy, but do a lot of musky fishing and may give advice. Musk, by Of course, a big fish that fight hard for what you want a decent setup great and lasting. I do not know if you like or Baitcast Spincast reels but will probably be a baitcaster the smartest bet. It will have a rod / reel line maintenance at least 20 pounds. I prefer the baitcasters on the larger figures Spincast fish because it generally is going to handle the heavy line better book than the spincasts. As for the rod you will want / medium heavy action or heavy action. You'll get a better and stronger hook sets and be able to handle these large fish. Ive had catfish have a medium action rod like nothing and the Muskies are much more erratic in water than a catfish so if it were me id get a strong action. A rod of 6'5-7'0 is a good length.
